What You Should Know About Radon Testing
Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States. Only
smoking causes more cancer. If you smoke and live in a home with an
elevated level of radon, your chances of lung cancer are considerable.
Any home can have a radon problem. Old homes, new homes, homes with or
without basements and drafty or well insulated homes.
On January 13, 2005, the U.S. Surgeon General issued a health advisory
warning urging all Americans to have their homes tested for radon.
